John soon became well loved and had a queue forming to receive his cyber hugs from his 'harem' and several ladies were lucky enough to receive a hug in real life.
Like so very many people up and down the UK, John and 'Sparkles' were given tremendous support by the Macmillan Nurses. John's family and friends - whether real or cyber (not that that makes them less than real friends) will be eternally grateful to Macmillan in aiding him to cope with the cancer in the dignified way that he led his life.
A few of John's many admirers have got together to raise some much needed funds for Macmillan as a way of saying Thank You to them - and so the HugBinders Day came about
